How long does it take to receive a response regarding my referral letter?
You can expect to receive responses to your referral letter within 48hours (Monday to Friday). You will receive an email notification when a response is received.
Does it cost anything to upload my referral letter?
No. The Smart Referral system was created to give patients choice. We do not charge patients at any stage of your journey to search, find or select your preferred specialist. Yes, it does sound too good to be true!
It doesn't look like you have any specialists for me?
If you can't see any specialists in the directory that match your needs that's fine. Simply upload your referral letter and we will take it from there. We are growing our representation of specialists on a daily basis, so there's a good chance we will be able to assist in your search.
I'm outside of NSW, what options do I have?
We will be extending nationally in the coming months. In the short-term, if you would like a second opinion, we recommend you head back to your GP or medical referrer and ask for their assistance. We understand this is not as convenient as Smart Referral, but it will be your best option before we come to a town near you.
Can I contact the specialists directly?
Absolutely, if you are more comfortable to search our medical directory, then you are very welcome to. The beauty in uploading your referral letter is that you receive real time information about availability and pricing. Not to mention the time savings, it will only take you a couple of minutes.
Are you funded by the Government?

I'm a doctor / I represent a clinic or a hospital. Can I get involved?
Do I have to create an account for each family member?
No. When you upload your first referral letter, you will be able to add family members to your account. You can then submit referral letters on their behalf and manage everyones healthcare journey from a single login.
